Career
player
The midfielder István Gál was active as a professional in Hungary in the 1990s and early 2000 and played for clubs Vasas Budapest and Rákospalotai EAC , among others . After a cruciate ligament rupture , he had to end his professional career and moved to Germany . First he played for the north-east upper division club FC Anker Wismar before moving to the Westphalian regional division club SG Bustedt in Bünde during the winter break of the 2005/06 season. After the bus city team had to relegate as the bottom of the table, Gál went to the league club SV Lippstadt 08 .
In 2008 Gál moved after relegation with the Lippstadt team to SC Herford , who had just been promoted to the national league. Two years later he switched to local rivals VfL Herford , but could not prevent his new team from being relegated directly. In the 2011/12 season Gál still played for the national division VfB Fichte Bielefeld , before he let his career end with local rivals TuS Dornberg .
Trainer
István Gál then began a coaching career. His first stop was TuS Hunnebrock from Bünde, before he took over the upper division TuS Dornberg from Bielefeld in October 2013 . With the Dornbergers, he rose at the end of the 2013/14 season . When his team was again in danger of relegation in the following 2014/15 Westphalia league season, Gál was dismissed in February 2015. A month later, he was an assistant coach at SC Herford before the same office when in season 2015/16 second team of Arminia Bielefeld held. In the summer of 2016, Gál became assistant coach at the Hungarian first division team Haladás Szombathely .
