In 2002 Ituano became state champion of São Paulo , but in the absence of all the top clubs in the state, which experimented that year with an expanded mode of the Torneio Rio-São Paulo . In São Paulo, a so-called Supercampeonato took place in the same year, in which Ituano, after knocking out SC Corinthians in the semifinals, lost 2: 2 and 1: 4 in the final against São Paulo .

In 2014 Ituano won the national championship for the second time after victories against the first division clubs Palmeiras and FC Santos . This qualified them for the Série D of the Brazilian Championship 2015, but could not hold the class with that and was eliminated in the round of 16.
