Iuliu Farkaş (born September 8, 1923 in Petroşani , † May 9, 1984 ) was a Romanian football player . He played a total of 151 games in the Romanian Divizia A .

Career

Farkaș started playing football with Jiul Petroșani in his hometown at the age of seven . There he came in 1940 in the squad of the first team that played in Divizia B at the time . In 1941 he joined the Hungarian club Ferencváros Budapest , with whom he won the Hungarian Cup in 1942 and 1943 . In the 1943/44 season he played for Kolozsvári AC before moving to Rapid Bucharest .

After the end of the Second World War , Farkaș Carmen joined Bucharest . In season 1945/46 he steered twelve goals in twelve games to the fact that his club for the re-founded Divizia A could qualify. The season 1946/47 he finished as runner-up behind ITA Arad . He then moved to Ciocanul Bucharest , from which Dinamo Bucharest emerged in mid-1948 . Farkaş played for Dinamo for two years. In the 1950 season he was only used nine times and left the club in early 1951 to Flacăra Petroșani. With the club he always fought to stay in the class in the following years. In the 1955 season he was only used twice. After a season for Minerul Lupeni in Divizia B, he ended his career.

National team

Farkaş played nine games for the Romanian national team and scored six goals. He made his debut on September 30, 1945 against Hungary when he came on for Francisc Spielmann at half-time . On May 25, 1947, he scored three goals in the 1947 Balkan Cup against Albania . In the first four games of the year he was part of the team. Afterwards it was only used irregularly. He was used for the last time on October 23, 1949 against Albania.
