Ivan Vargić (born March 15, 1987 in Osijek , SR Croatia , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian football player . The goalkeeper is under contract with Lazio Rome and plays for the Croatian national team . He was also part of the squad for the 2016 European Football Championship .

Career

Since April 1, 2006 Vargić played for the professionals of the NK Osijek , before he was active for the U-19 selection of the team. From July 1, 2006 to June 30, 2007, NK Vukovar '91 was loaned out. After the loan, he played for NK Osijek until August 8, 2008. From August 8, 2008 to December 31, 2008 he was active for FC Honka . After the loan deal ended, he returned to NK Osijek. Here he was under contract until February 2013. Then he left the club and went to HNK Rijeka . In February 2016, Lazio signed him for the 2016/17 season.

National team

He made his debut on November 12, 2014 in a friendly against Argentina. there he was used in the last minute of the game. Before that, he played six games for the Croatian U-21 team .

At the European Football Championship in France in 2016 , he was accepted as the second substitute goalkeeper in the Croatian squad , but was not used.
