Ivica Petanjak OFMCap (born August 29, 1963 in Drenje , Yugoslavia , today Croatia ) is a Roman Catholic religious and Roman Catholic bishop of Krk .

Life

Ivica Petanjak entered the Capuchin Order and made perpetual profession on October 4, 1988 . He received the sacrament of ordination on June 24, 1990.

From 1991 to 1995 Petanyak was the hospital chaplain in Split. He then studied church history at the Pontifical Gregorian University , where he received his doctorate in 2002 . After various activities within his order, he was provincial minister for two terms from 2005 to 2011 . From 2011 to 2014 he was pastor in Rijeka and then Guardian of the Capuchin monastery in Osijek and provincial definitor .

Pope Francis appointed him Bishop of Krk on January 24, 2015. The Archbishop of Zagreb , Cardinal Josip Bozanić , ordained him episcopal on March 22nd of the same year. Co- consecrators were the Apostolic Nuncio in Croatia, Archbishop Alessandro D'Errico , and his predecessor Valter Župan .
