Ivo Emanuel Alves Oliveira (born September 5, 1996 in Vila Nova de Gaia ) is a Portuguese cyclist who is active on track and road .
Athletic career
Ivo Oliveira comes from a cycling enthusiast family: his brother Hélder, who is 13 years older than him, is an active cyclist, as is his twin brother Rui . In 2012 he was two-time Portuguese youth champion in the single pursuit and in the points race , on the road he won the Festas de Lousada junior races and the Prémio de Ciclismo de Rendufe and came third in the national youth road championship. The following year he won the bronze medal in the points race at the Junior World Track Championships and was Portuguese junior champion in the pursuit.
2014 was Oliviera's most successful year to date: at the Junior World Championships , he also won the single pursuit title as well as the European Championships (U23). At the World Championships, he and his twin brother Rui Oliveira came third in the two-man team and at the European Championships second in the Omnium . At national level he won three titles in the junior division, in the Omnium, in the team sprint (with brother Rui and Pedro Preto ) and in the team pursuit (with Rui Oliveira, Pedro Preto and Rodrigo Rocha ). Portuguese media then celebrated the Oliveira twins as a "double miracle".
In 2016 Oliveira was two-time Portuguese elite champion, in the single pursuit and in the 1000-meter time trial . 2017 he won both the European Championships for elite as with the European title fights of the U23 silver medal in the individual pursuit, respectively. In 2017 and 2018 he won other national titles. In 2018 he won the overall ranking of the points race at the Track Cycling World Cup . At the rail world championships and the European championships he won silver single pursuit.
