Ivo Pękalski (born November 3, 1990 in Lund ) is a Swedish football player with Polish roots. The midfielder won the Swedish championship title with Malmö FF in 2010 .

Career

Pękalski started playing football at Linero IF , where he played until 2001. He then joined the youth team of Lunds BK before moving to Landskrona BoIS in early 2005 . In the same year he made his debut in the Swedish national school team, for which he completed three international appearances in the U-15 age group. In the following years he ran on the side of the later professional players Jesper Florén , Astrit Ajdarevic and Jiloan Hamad in the junior national team, while he recommended himself at club level for the men's team. In the second division season in 2007 , he made his debut at the age of 16 for the southern Swedish club in professional football, where he immediately gained a foothold and was in the starting lineup in 22 of his 26 league appearances. In the following seasons his playing times were reduced, but he had aroused high-class interest.

In July 2009 Pękalski moved after 56 second division games to Malmö FF in the Allsvenskan . Here he initially only played in the youth and reserve team, only in the first division season 2010 he established himself in the professional team. He became a regular player and contributed to winning the championship with one goal in 24 games. Injury problems in the following season slowed him down for a while, but national coach Erik Hamrén nominated him alongside several other newcomers and his Malmö team- mates Pontus Jansson , Mathias Ranégie , Jiloan Hamad, Johan Dahlin and Jimmy Durmaz as one of numerous Swedish U-21 national players for the Opening international matches of the Swedish national team in 2012. In mid-January Hamrén invited him again to give him more regeneration time after an operation in November, and nominated for him and Ranégie, who was also no longer considered, the Malmö FF additions Simon Thern and Erik Friberg to. In the following season he wavered between regular formation and substitute bench, at the end of the season he had again established himself as a regular. He then moved back into the focus of Hamrén, at the King's Cup in early 2013 he contributed to winning the title in both games. The following season was overshadowed by injuries, only one use stood for him when the club won the championship again.

Pękalski was dissatisfied with the rehabilitation at Malmö, so on the one hand he organized himself and on the other hand, at the end of the season, he said goodbye to the club - who wanted to keep him - due to his expiring contract. At the end of November 2013, the Gothenburg club BK Häcken announced the commitment of the midfielder.
