János Németh (born June 12, 1906 in Budapest , † March 5, 1988 in Madrid ) was a Hungarian water polo player.
At the 1932 Olympic Games in Los Angeles, Németh, playing with the Hungarian national water polo team, met America and Japan and then in the final against Germany. After a 6-2 win, Németh and his team- mates György Bródy , József Vértesy , Olivér Halassy , Márton Homonnay , Sándor Ivády , István Barta , Alajos Keserű , Miklós Sárkány and Ferenc Keserű won the gold medal. In the three games, Németh scored twelve goals.
Németh was used again four years later, at the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin. In the group games you qualified with five wins in five games in which Németh scored 17 goals for the final round, where you met France and Germany. After a 5-0 win against France, a 2-2 draw was enough to win the Olympics due to the better goal difference. Nemeth scored three goals in two games and won his second gold medal.
