history

House in Jägerswald

The story of Jägerswald begins around 1791, when the place was occupied as a hunter's house with a small settlement in the southern Jägerswald. At that time, was the manor of the settlement as opposed to Pillmannsgrün the manor Mechelgrün in the Saxon Office Plauen . In the 19th century Jägerswald belonged to Pillmannsgrün and thus belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg until 1856 . In 1856 Jägerswald was affiliated as part of Pillmannsgrün to the Falkenstein court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . At this time, the name "Upper Jägerswald" is also used for the settlement. Around 1890 the settlement had 23 residents.

With the incorporation of Pillmannsgrün into Kottengrün, Jägerswald also came to Kottengrün on October 1, 1938. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Jägerswald became part of the municipality of Kottengrün in 1952 and became part of the Auerbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach in 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. With the incorporation of the municipality of Kottengrün into Werda, Jägerswald came to the municipality of Werda on January 1, 1994. Jägerswald has since formed the northern part of the Pillmannsgrün district of the Kottengrün district.
