history
In 1320 the forest hoof village was first mentioned as "Cottengrune". In contrast to the neighboring village of Pillmannsgrün, Kottengrün belonged partly to the Electoral Saxon and Royal Saxon offices of Plauen and Voigtsberg until the 19th century . The basic rule about Plauen share was around 1,542 pro rata in the parish and the manor Hoyerswerda, about 1764 pro rata among the manors Werda and Oberlauterbach . The Voigtsberg portion of Kottengrün was under the manorial rule of the parish Oelsnitz around 1542 and, as an official village, directly under the Voigtsberg office around 1764 .
In 1856 Kottengrün was affiliated to the Falkenstein court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . On October 1, 1938, Pillmannsgrün was incorporated with Jägerswald to Kottengrün. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Kottengrün became part of the Auerbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach in 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. On January 1, 1994, Kottengrün was incorporated into Werda. Since then, Kottengrün and Pillmannsgrün have formed their own boundaries within the Kottengrün district. In 1999, the Jägerswald administrative association of the municipalities of Tirpersdorf , Theuma , Bergen and Werda merged.
