Korna is a part of the municipality of Arnoldsgrün in the town of Schöneck / Vogtl. in the Vogtlandkreis (Free State of Saxony ). It was incorporated into Arnoldsgrün on May 1, 1936 and came with this to the town of Schöneck / Vogtl on January 1, 1996.

Korna is located in the center of the Saxon part of the historical Vogtland northwest of the town of Schöneck / Vogtl. Regarding the natural area , the place is at the transition from the Vogtland to the Western Ore Mountains . The place is located in the headwaters of the Görnitzbach , a tributary of the White Elster . Korna is located in the Ore Mountains / Vogtland Nature Park .

history

Already in 1224 a "Cunradus de Cornowe" was called. In the 18th century the current spelling "Korna" was used next to "Kornau". The manor over the place lay with the manor Schilbach. Korna belonged to the Plauen office around 1561 , and from 1764 to 1856 to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg . After 1856 the place belonged to the court office of Schöneck and from 1875 to the Oelsnitz administration . Around 1890 Korna had 86 inhabitants.

On May 1, 1936 Korna was incorporated into Arnoldsgrün . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Korna came to the Oelsnitz district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 as a district of the Arnoldsgrün community (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Oelsnitz in 1990 and became part of the Vogtlandkreis in 1996. The incorporation of Arnoldsgrün to Schöneck / Vogtl. Korna became a part of the municipality of Schöneck on May 1, 1996, Arnoldsgrün.
