Location of the Jägerswald administrative association in the Vogtland district | ||
The administrative association Jägerswald is an administrative association in the Saxon Vogtland district . It consists of four municipalities that have entrusted the administrative association with certain tasks of municipal administration or that it carries out on their behalf.
geography
The association area is centrally located in the Vogtlandkreis and thus also part of the Vogtland landscape , which extends over the entire district and also has a share in the German federal states of Bavaria and Thuringia as well as parts of the Czech Republic . In the north the administrative association borders on the municipality of Neuensalz , in the northeast on Falkenstein / Vogtl. and in the east to Neustadt / Vogtl. In the southeast is the town of Schöneck / Vogtl. adjacent. The municipality of Mühlental is located south of the association area, and the urban area of Oelsnitz / Vogtl closes in the south-west . on. To the northwest is Plauen , the district town of the Vogtlandkreis.
The administrative association got its name from the Jägerswald , which is located in the middle of the association area and in which all member communities have a share. Several small streams arise in the Jägerswald, which then flow into the White Elster either near Oelsnitz or via the Pöhl dam . In the far east of the association area there is also a dam, the Werda dam . It essentially dams the Geigenbach and has around 43 hectares of water surface.
In terms of road traffic, the four municipalities are connected to the rest of the trunk road network via the federal highway 169 ( Stollberg –Plauen) and the Saxon state roads 301, 303, 312 and 315. In Plauen there is also a connection to the federal motorway 72 ( Hof - Chemnitz ), which runs along the association area to the west , via two junctions . There is a connection to the rail network for passenger traffic via the train stations in Plauen, the largest nearest station is the Obere Bahnhof in the district town.
Member municipalities
The Jägerswald Administrative Association was founded with effect from December 25, 1998. Since then four parishes have belonged to it. The administrative headquarters are in Tirpersdorf, the largest municipality in the administrative association. Most of the inhabitants are in the Werda municipality. The municipality with the smallest area and population in the Jägerswald administrative association is Bergen.

The tasks of an administrative association are determined by the Saxon law on municipal cooperation . The administrative association Jägerswald works together in the areas of the main office, the public order and trade office, the finance department and the tax and construction office. The administrative association publishes an official gazette every two months which, in addition to information on the association, also contains content from the four member communities in separate sections.
In June 2010 the local council of Bergen decided to start negotiations on incorporation into Falkenstein and thus to leave the administrative association. Without Bergen, the administrative association would not have enough inhabitants to continue to exist meaningfully. In Tirpersdorf the formation of a unified Jägerswald community was discussed with all four member communities. However, Bergen held on to the incorporation into Falkenstein. The Vogtlandkreis district office rejected this in 2011, but with reference to the existing administrative association, whose association assembly had already rejected Bergen's exit in 2010. The municipality appealed against the decision of the district office. No solution has yet been found.
Population development
When it was founded, the administrative association had about 5730 inhabitants. In the following years the number of inhabitants fell continuously to 5013 inhabitants in 2012 and thus by around 13%. As of December 31, 2002, for the first time fewer than 5600 inhabitants lived in the association area, on December 31, 2005 for the first time fewer than 5500 and a year later fewer than 5400 inhabitants. Another year later, the population was below 5300, at the end of 2010 fewer than 5200 people and in December 2011 fewer than 5100 people lived in the association area.

Culture
Each of the four parishes has a church building: the St. Nikolai Church in Bergen, the Maria Magdalene Church in Theuma, the Tirpersdorf Church and the St. Katharinen Church in Werda. These churches all form individual parishes , some of which also include places outside the association's territory. The villages of Trieb and Schönau belong to the Bergen parish and the villages of Poppengrün and Neudorf belong to the Werda parish .
There are seven volunteer fire brigades in the association area . These are located in the towns of Bergen, Theuma, Tirpersdorf, Lottengrün, Droßdorf, Werda and Kottengrün. The two primary schools are in Theuma and Werda. There are also one day care centers in Bergen, Theuma and Tirpersdorf and two in Werda .
tourism
On the disused section of the Herlasgrün – Oelsnitz railway line between Falkenstein and Oelsnitz, a peripheral hiking trail was created in 2011 that runs through the association's territory. There is a hiking trail from Bergen to the Werda dam. From there there are paths to Schöneck / Vogtl., Grünbach and Theuma. Another hiking trail connects Theuma with Lottengrün and Tirpersdorf.
There are outdoor pools in Kottengrün and Tirpersdorf, and Werda has a ski lift. In addition to the four churches in the towns, the local history and fire brigade museum in Tirpersdorf as well as the dam with waterworks and the ring wall of the Werda moated castle are also worth seeing.
