history

The village of Obermarxgrün was mentioned in 1328 as "Obern Marquartsgrune". Regarding the manorial rule , the place belonged to the Teutonic Order of Plauen , the church of Oelsnitz and the manor Schloditz around 1542 . Around 1606 another part belonged to the council of Oelsnitz. The lordship over Obermarxgrün was in 1764 proportionally with the manors Schloditz and Obermarxgrün and as an official village directly with the Voigtsberg office .

The manor Obermarxgrün emerged from a knight seat mentioned in 1445, from which two manors that can be documented in 1606 arose. In 1748 a manor emerged, in 1875 a chancellery estate. This was owned by Moritz Petzold in 1901, by Carl Fischer in 1910, by Hermann Arthur Marks in 1914, by the Sippe and Marks families in 1920, by the Golle family in 1925 and, from 1941 until the expropriation four years later, by Christoph Zeidler.

Until 1856, Obermarxgrün belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Voigtsberg . In 1856 the place was affiliated to the Oelsnitz court office and in 1875 to the Oelsnitz administration . In terms of church, Obermarxgrün has always been parish after Theuma .

Through the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Obermarxgrün came to the Oelsnitz district in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ). On July 1, 1973, Obermarxgrün was incorporated into Droßdorf together with Schloditz and Altmanns. Obermarxgrün came as part of the Droßdorf community in 1990 to the Saxon district of Oelsnitz, which became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. On January 1, 1994, the municipality Droßdorf and its districts were incorporated into Tirpersdorf.
