history

Historical representation of the manor Oberlauterbach

Oberlauterbach was first mentioned in 1421 as "Luterbach" in contrast to the neighboring village of Niederlauterbach, which was mentioned in 1445 as "Luterbach by Drewen ". In 1460 the names "Nider Lauterboch" and "Ober Lauterboch" existed. Ecclesiastically and politically, both places were assigned to different administrative units at that time. While Oberlauterbach belonged politically to the Falkenstein manor around 1583 and was ecclesiastically also parish to Falkenstein, Unterlauterbach belonged to the manor of the Treuen manor around 1583 and ecclesiastically also to Treuen.

There is evidence of an estate in Oberlauterbach since 1421, which Conrad von Trützschler acquired in 1445. The manor in Oberlauterbach was used in 1501 as a preliminary work of the Falkenstein lower part manor and raised to an independent manor in 1535. The Oberlauterbach manor remained in the possession of the von Trützschler family until at least 1831. In the second half of the 19th century it belonged first to Mr. Opitz and then to Mr. Falk. From 1868 the manor Oberlauterbach belonged to the Hermann family, which gave the building the name "Hermannsches Gut".

Oberlauterbach belonged to the Falkenstein rule until the 16th century and then until 1856 to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen . In 1856 Oberlauterbach was affiliated to the Falkenstein court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . The Hermann family owned the Oberlauterbach manor until it was expropriated as part of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 . Around 1953 it was sold to LPG .

On January 1, 1950, the community of Unterlauterbach was incorporated into Oberlauterbach. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Oberlauterbach became part of Auerbach in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach in 1990 and was incorporated into the Vogtland district in 1996. The manor Oberlauterbach (Hermannsches Gut) was sold to a private owner in 1995. The partly dilapidated buildings of the manor Unterlauterbach ( Rittergut Adlershof ), however, were acquired in 1990 by the municipality of Oberlauterbach. The renovation work on the buildings began in 1992/1993. The Nature and Environment Center Vogtland eV (NUZ Vogtland) moved into the renovated mansion in 2000. The park of the Rittergut Adlershof was renovated in 2008 and can therefore be used for events (open-air stage). Private and public investors settled in the other buildings of the complex. Apartments, offices, a nature hostel, workshops and event areas were created. In addition, the Vogtland rural development center has been located in the complex of the Adlershof manor in the Unterlauterbach district since 2006.

On January 1, 1999, the municipality of Oberlauterbach with its district Unterlauterbach was incorporated into Falkenstein, whereby Oberlauterbach (with Unterlauterbach) was given district status.
