Schreiersgrün is a former Waldhufendorf in the Vogtlandkreis in southwest Saxony . Politically, it has belonged to the city of Treuen since the municipal district reform in 1994 . Since the development of an approximately 15 hectare residential area after 1990, around 1000 people have lived in Schreiersgrün.

Schreiersgrün is located southeast of Treuen in the east of the Vogtland natural area or in the Saxon part of the historical Vogtland . The Treba flows through the village and drains into the White Elster via the Trieb .

history

Historically, Schreiersgrün was first mentioned in 1413 in a deed of loan from Beczold von Mylau . The manorial rule over Schreiersgrüm was in 1583 with the manors Falkenstein and Treuen . Around 1764 Schreiersgrün belonged partly to the manors Dorfstadt , Treuen lower part, Falkenstein upper part and Oberlauterbach . Schreiersgrün belonged to the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen until 1856 . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Treuen court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration . Agriculture, activities in nearby stone quarries (granite and slate) and embroidery in the local business and at home served as sources of income for the population. Around 1900 200 stonecutters work in the village .

During the time of National Socialism there was a facility of the Reich Labor Service in Schreiersgrün , the department 2/152 "Scharnhorst". She was housed in barracks on the outskirts of the village.

Through the second district reform in the GDR , Schreiersgrün came to the district of Auerbach in the Chemnitz district in 1952 (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Auerbach district" from 1990 onwards. In 1972, Schreiersgrün was incorporated into the Treuener Land community association while maintaining its independence. On January 1, 1994 the place was incorporated into Treuen. Since 1996 the place belongs to the Vogtlandkreis.

Infrastructure

The districts of Kuxenberg and Fronberg belong to the place. Schreiersgrün owned a primary school until 2007. The imposing school building is located in the center of the village and characterizes the townscape. It was built in 1907. At the world exhibition in Brussels, architecture was awarded as the best rural school . The Vogtland hiking trail leads through the village.

Culture and sport

There are several cultural and sports clubs in Schreiersgrün:

The annual village and homeland festival takes place in mid-June, the Christmas market in the second week of December.

Sport in Schreiersgrün has a tradition that goes back more than a century. There are contemporary documents from gymnastics teams around 1901. At the moment, the Fronberg Schreiersgrün e. V. around 300 members in the football, table tennis, volleyball and gymnastics departments. The football and table tennis departments play competitions with several teams at district and district level. The volleyball players take part in recreational tournaments.
