history

The forest hoof village Altmannsgrün was first mentioned in 1333. Until the 19th century, the manorial rule over the place lay partly with the manors Treuen upper and lower part and Neuensalz . Another part was subordinate to the Plauen office as an administrative village. In Altmannsgrün there were once three mills, the Obere Treichels Mill, the Middle Mill at the Bärenbach and the Lower Mill. The latter was recently demolished due to its dilapidation.

Altmannsgrün was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen until 1856 . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Treuen court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the Altmannsgrün community became part of Auerbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Auerbach district" from 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996.

On April 1, 1993 the incorporation took place after Treuen. The old school in the center of the village was converted into a community center, the premises of which can be used for parties and various events. The "Kultur- und Heimatverein Altmannsgrün" founded in 1993 is the only association in the area.
