history

The forest hoof village Wetzelsgrün was first mentioned in 1347 under the name "Weczilsgrune". Until the 19th century, the manor over the place lay partly with the Pöhl manor , the other part was subordinate as an administrative village directly to the Electoral Saxon Office of Plauen. In the 16th century, Wetzelsgrün was at times desolate . Until 1856, Wetzelsgrün was in the Electoral Saxon or Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Treuen court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration .

On July 1, 1950, the incorporation took place after Treuen. As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Wetzelsgrün became part of the town of Treuen in 1952 and became part of the Auerbach district in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon "Auerbach district" from 1990 and in 1996 in the Vogtland district rose.
