history

The group of houses built in the 18th century Siebenhitz northwest of the Waldhufendorf Schönau was first mentioned in 1791. The settlement should not be confused with the settlement of the same name, also known as "Koberei", between Dorfstadt and Neustadt / Vogtl. The Siebenhitz settlement near Schönau was initially considered a suburb of Zobes and was part of the manorial estate of the manors Neuensalz and Dorfstadt. Until 1856 it belonged to the Electoral Saxon or later Royal Saxon Office of Plauen . In 1856 Siebenhitz was affiliated to the Falkenstein court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . In 1862 it was incorporated into Schönau.

On January 1, 1950, the community of Schönau with its district Siebenhitz was moved to Trieb / Vogtl. incorporated. The second district reform in the GDR brought Schönau with Siebenhitz as a district of the municipality of Trieb / Vogtl. in 1952 to the district of Auerbach in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued in 1990 as the Saxon district of Auerbach and was merged into the Vogtland district in 1996. On January 1, 1999, the municipality of Trieb / Vogtl, with its districts Schönau and Siebenhitz, was incorporated into Falkenstein, giving Schönau, to which Siebenhitz belongs, district status.
