history

Adlershof manor in Unterlauterbach

Niederlauterbach was first mentioned in 1445 as "Luterbach by Drewen" in contrast to the neighboring town of Oberlauterbach, which was mentioned in 1421 as "Luterbach". In 1460 the names "Nider Lauterboch" and "Ober Lauterboch" existed, around 1533 "Vnter Lauterbach". Ecclesiastically and politically, both places were assigned to different administrative units at that time. While Oberlauterbach belonged politically to the Falkenstein manor around 1583 and was ecclesiastically also parish to Falkenstein, Unterlauterbach belonged to the manor of the Treuen manor around 1583 and ecclesiastically also to Treuen.

In Unterlauterbach there has been evidence of a knight's seat since 1445, which originally belonged to the brothers Hans, Georg and Heinrich von Machwitz . In 1537 it passed to Eberhard von Feilitzsch , who also owned the neighboring Treuen manor. The Unterlauterbach manor, which presumably emerged from a preliminary work of the Treuen manor, has been documented as a manor since 1606. The brothers Major Friedrich von Obernitz and Lieutenant Colonel Karl-Heinrich von Obernitz acquired the Unterlauterbach manor in 1724. In 1744 the manor was run down and was " subhasta " for forced sale. The estate was acquired by Georg Adler and his cousin Wolf Adam Adler on March 24, 1744.

Unterlauterbach belonged to the lordship of Treuen until the 16th century and then to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen until 1856 . In 1856 Unterlauterbach was affiliated to the Falkenstein court office and in 1875 to the Auerbach administration . Carl Ferdinand Adler, the last owner of the entire Unterlauterbach manor until it was expropriated as part of the land reform in the Soviet occupation zone from 1945 , coined the current nickname “Manor Adlershof”. To carry out this land reform, a land reform commission was founded on April 1, 1946 in Unterlauterbach. The task was to divide up the expropriated manor property including forest of a total of 292 hectares. 6 new farmer positions each with 10 hectares of agricultural area and 2 hectares of forest were created. For this purpose, the farm yard was divided up for 4 new farmer positions according to the intended use. The manor house and the park were transferred to the Unterlauterbach community in 1947. The planned demolition of the building could be prevented by temporarily housing resettlers . Between 1948 and 1990 the mansion served as a kindergarten, school and community office.

On January 1, 1950, the community of Unterlauterbach was incorporated into Oberlauterbach . As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , Unterlauterbach became part of the municipality of Oberlauterbach in 1952 to the district of Auerbach in the Chemnitz district (renamed the Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach in 1990 and was added to the Vogtland district in 1996. During the GDR era, the buildings of the Adlershof manor increasingly fell into disrepair. It was partially demolished. The manor house, the manor and the inhabited buildings were acquired by the municipality of Oberlauterbach in 1990. Other buildings, such as the estate manager's house, were sold to other owners. The renovation work on the buildings began in 1992/1993. The Nature and Environment Center Vogtland eV (NUZ Vogtland) moved into the renovated mansion in 2000. The park of the manor was renovated in 2008 and can therefore be used for events (open-air stage). Private and public investors settled in the other buildings of the complex. Apartments, offices, a nature hostel, workshops and event areas were created. Furthermore, the Vogtland rural development center has been located in the complex of the Adlershof manor since 2006.

On January 1, 1999, the municipality of Oberlauterbach with its district Unterlauterbach was incorporated into Falkenstein, whereby Oberlauterbach (with Unterlauterbach) was given district status.
