history
The Waldhufendorf Reumtengrün was probably settled in the middle of the 12th century by German farmers from the Franconian region. In a document drawn up in 1362 by Heinrich VII the Younger, Vogt von Plauen , the place was mentioned as "Reymbotengrune". The place name goes back to the name "Reymbot". The basic rule about Reumtengrün was about 1583 pro rata among the manors Falkenstein and Auerbach. In 1764 it was part of the seven manors Oberlauterbach , Rützengrün , Falkenstein upper part, Ellefeld , Dorfstadt , Auerbach upper part and Mühlberg.
Reumtengrün belonged to the rule Auerbach until the 16th century and then until 1856 to the Electoral Saxon or later royal Saxon office of Plauen . In 1856 the place was affiliated with the Auerbach court office and in 1875 with the Auerbach administration . School buildings were erected in Reumtengrün in 1837, 1863 and 1905. Between 2010 and 2013, the Reumtengrün elementary school went from state to private sponsorship.
As a result of the second district reform in the GDR , the municipality of Reumtengrün became part of Auerbach in the Chemnitz district (renamed Karl-Marx-Stadt district in 1953 ), which was continued as the Saxon district of Auerbach in 1990 and became part of the Vogtland district in 1996. On January 1, 1994 the community Reumtengrün was incorporated into Rebesgrün . With the incorporation of the Rebesgrün community into the large district town of Auerbach / Vogtl. Reumtengrün and Rebesgrün became independent localities with their own local council on January 1, 2003.
