Jérôme Owono-Mimboe

Jérôme Owono-Mimboe (born February 4, 1933 in Ngoulémakong ; † July 15, 2016 ) was a Cameroonian clergyman and Roman Catholic bishop of Obala .

Life

Jérôme Owono-Mimboe was ordained a priest on July 22, 1962 .

Pope John Paul II appointed him on July 3, 1987 as the first bishop of the diocese of Obala, established with the same date . The Archbishop of Yaoundé , Jean Zoa , ordained him episcopal on September 6 of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Joachim N'Dayen , Archbishop of Bangui , and Jean-Baptiste Ama , Bishop of Sangmélima .

On December 3, 2009, Pope Benedict XVI. his age-related resignation.
