Józefów (formerly also Holendry Józefowskie ) is a village with a Schulzenamt of the city-and-rural municipality Chocz in the Powiat Pleszewski of the Greater Poland Voivodeship in Poland .

history
In 1784 F. Stadnicki and K. Lipski obliged the settler Georg Mueller to bring 20 Dutch and Hauländer (Polish : Olędr (z) y ) to the new settlement Józefów . In contrast to the majority of the Dutch settlements in the Kalischer Land , the settlers in Józefów and Holendry Józefowskie did not come from the south-western Polish-Lower Silesian border area, but from Pomerania or Neumark . After the second partition of Poland , it belonged to South Prussia from 1793 to 1807 . In 1809 it came to the Duchy of Warsaw and in 1815 to the newly formed Russian-dominated Congress Poland .
After the demographic development of the Hauländer, new Protestant village branches were founded, including the Stawiszyn parish in Jozefowo in 1843. In 1907 a new Protestant brick church was built in the northwest in the neighboring village of Nowa Kaźmierka .
After the end of the First World War , Józefów came to Poland. In 1919 there was a German elementary school there. Around October 26, 1939, the Kalischer area was annexed and incorporated into the German Empire as part of the new Posen Reichsgau , later Wartheland . From 1975 to 1998 Józefów was part of the Kalisz Voivodeship .
In the village there is a former Lutheran cemetery with remains of the tombs.
