Józef Kocyan (born February 14, 1946 in Wisła ) is a former Polish ski jumper .

Career

Kocyan started in 1965 at the Four Hills Tournament . At the Four Hills Tournament in 1965/66 , however, he had to be satisfied with rather middle placements. At the Four Hills Tournament 1966/67 he managed to jump to a top place for the first time with 10th place in Innsbruck . In March 1967 he won both ski jumping competitions of the high-class Czech Marusarzówna Memorial in Zakopane . At the Four Hills Tournament 1967/68 he reached his highest individual placement with eighth place in Partenkirchen . He finished the tour in 21st place overall. At the beginning of 1968 he set a new hill record with 86.5 m on his home hill , the Malinka in Wisła. At the 1968 Winter Olympics in Grenoble , Kocyan jumped from the normal hill to 35th and from the large hill to 45th place.

At the national championships Kocyan reached the podium five times, but could never win the championship title.

After the Olympic Games in 1968, he ended his active ski jumping career.
