Józef Wysocki (born October 17, 1940 in Jartypory , Poland ) is a Roman Catholic clergyman and auxiliary bishop emeritus in Elbląg .

Life

From 1959 to 1965 studied Józef Wysocki Catholic theology and philosophy at the seminary Hosianum in Olsztyn . He received on June 13 in 1965 by the Apostolic Administrator of Warmia, Tomasz Wilczynski , the sacrament of Holy Orders .

From 1965 to 1970 Wysocki was vicar in Bartoszyce . In 1970 he became vicar in Olsztyn. Józef Wysocki was vicar in Giżycko from 1975 to 1978 and in Olsztyn from 1978 to 1980. In addition, Józef Wysocki completed further studies at the Catholic Theological Academy in Warsaw from 1976 to 1980 . In 1981 he became pastor in Bartoszyce and Ełk . 1986 Wysocki was at the Catholic Theological Academy in Warsaw for a doctor of theology doctorate . From 1983 to 1989 he was dean of the Ełk deanery .

On April 6, 1989 appointed him Pope John Paul II. To the titular of Praecausa and ordered him to auxiliary bishop in Warmia . The Archbishop of Warsaw , Józef Cardinal Glemp , gave him on April 29 of the same year in the Cathedral of the Assumption and St. Andrew in Frombork the episcopal ordination ; Co- consecrators were the Bishop of Warmia, Edmund Piszcz , and the Bishop of Stettin-Cammin , Kazimierz Majdański . From 1989 to 1992 Józef Wysocki was Vicar General of the Diocese of Warmia.

On March 25, 1992, John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in Elbląg . Wysocki was also vicar general of the diocese of Elbląg and provost . From 1992 to 1999 he was also chairman of the 2nd diocesan synod of the Diocese of Elbląg.

Pope Francis accepted his age-related resignation on October 31, 2015.
