research

Jörg Döring's research interests lie in the German-language literary history of the 20th and 21st centuries, from classical modernism to contemporary literature . A special interest is directed towards the continuities associated with the literary historical epoch threshold of 1945 despite all discontinuity. In this regard, he is working on a critical revision of the "successful model" Group 47 in the context of the historical-political debates in the early Federal Republic.

As a literary and media theorist , Döring is the protagonist of a spatial turn in German literary studies, where he is testing the possibilities of concrete cultural-geographic mapping. He also contributes fundamental considerations to basic philological - hermeneutical concepts and procedures. In recent times he has devoted himself to text-genetic investigations by Tristesse Royale ( Joachim Bessing et al.), A central collaborative work of so-called pop literature .
