Jörg Klimpel (born September 29, 1956 in East Berlin ) is a former German soccer goalkeeper . He played for Dynamo Dresden , BSG Progress Bischofswerda and BSG Energie Cottbus in the GDR league .

Athletic career

BSG and club stations

The goalkeeper began to play organized football at BSG Motor Lichtenberg and switched to FC Dynamo in Berlin in January 1968 . Klimpel played in the transition from junior to men's area from 1974 to 1976 in the BFC reserve before he went to Dynamo Dresden . There he made his debut in the league season 1980/81 on the 22nd matchday. In the 2-1 win against BSG Chemie Böhlen on April 25, 1981, he stood between the posts at the Dynamos. This was followed by four more missions on the following match days. In the 1982/83 season Klimpel came to 16 games after Bernd Jakubowski was injured . This year he played both games in the first round of the European Cup Winners' Cup . After a win (3: 2) in the first leg in front of a home crowd, Dresden was eliminated from the competition due to the away goals rule against B.93 Copenhagen after the 1: 2 away defeat in Denmark.

1985 Klimpel joined the BSG progress Bischofswerda, which played in the second-rate GDR league. Together he rose as a regular goalkeeper after the 1985/86 season in the league. After only one season, in which Klimpel completed all games, the direct relegation took place. In 1987 he was hired by BSG Energie Cottbus, which had been relegated together with Bischofswerda. 1987/88 he came to 34 league games and rose to the league with Cottbus. There he completed only the 13 games of the first half of the season and then moved to BSG Stahl Eisenhüttenstadt , where he only stayed for a short time. In the summer of 1989, Klimpel switched to BSG activist Black Pump , for which he only made one game.
