The Brakel Jewish Cemetery is located in the town of Brakel in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia . As a Jewish cemetery , it is a monument that has been under monument protection under monument number 136 since April 30, 1993 .

The Am Hembser Berg cemetery was occupied from 1854 to 1949. About 230 tombstones have been preserved there. The burial site was largely destroyed during the Nazi era . Today he is restored.

Old Jewish Cemetery

There are no more tombstones in the old cemetery, which was occupied from around the 18th to the middle of the 19th century. This cemetery was located between the Siekbach and today's Klöckerstrasse on the area of ​​the primary school and the residential area to the east in front of it.
