Jewish cemetery (Warburg)
The Warburg Jewish Cemetery is located in the town of Warburg in the Höxter district in North Rhine-Westphalia . As a Jewish cemetery , it is an architectural monument .
285 tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery at Am Sacktor on the castle moat .
history
The cemetery was occupied from around 1828/30 to 1971. It was badly devastated during the Nazi era . After the Second World War , the post-war community had a memorial built from the rubble of the tombstones .
Old Jewish Cemetery
There are no more tombstones on the old Jewish cemetery Mollhauser Graben / Judengraben, which was occupied from 1687 to around 1828. This cemetery was expanded in 1758, 1772 and 1796.
