Jewish cemetery (Moers)
The Moers Jewish Cemetery is located in the town of Moers in the Wesel district in North Rhine-Westphalia . As a Jewish cemetery , it is an architectural monument . Fifty tombstones have been preserved in the cemetery on Klever Strasse .
history
The cemetery was occupied from before 1853 until 1934. In front of the construction of their own cemetery, the Moers Jews probably buried their dead in Krefeld . The cemetery was largely destroyed during the Nazi era : around 50 to 90 gravestones were lost. The current list of the remaining 50 stones does not correspond to the original condition.
