Jewish cemetery (Weitersweiler)
The Weitersweiler Jewish cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Weitersweiler , a local community in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate . It is a protected cultural monument .

The almost 700 m² cemetery is located about one kilometer east of Weitersweiler in the direction of Marnheim on the continuation of the Marnheimer Weg in Gewann Häferberg. Burials were carried out from the 18th century to 1917. 21 tombstones from the period from 1772 to 1917 have been preserved, as well as the original cemetery wall.
history
The information about when the cemetery was created vary and contradict each other: 1821 / “probably created after 1850” / according to the sign at the entrance not until 1870. During the Nazi era , the cemetery was destroyed and largely cleared. After 1945 the tombstones that could still be found were put up again on part of the cemetery property.
