New Jewish cemetery (Steinbach am Donnersberg)
The New Jewish Cemetery in Steinbach am Donnersberg , a local community in the Donnersbergkreis in Rhineland-Palatinate , was probably laid out in 1842 and expanded in 1902. The approximately 580 m² Jewish cemetery is located at the eastern exit of the village on the Staudenheide. It is a protected cultural monument .
The cemetery was desecrated several times during the Nazi era : the tombstones were overturned and the cemetery gate was stolen.
Old Jewish Cemetery
An old Jewish cemetery, which was laid out in 1780 and occupied until the 1st half of the 19th century, was located in the center of the village in the area of today's community center parking lot. The cemetery was destroyed during the Nazi era . The property was sold to a private person in 1952 and built over. No tombstones have survived.
