Jewish cemetery (Berlichingen)
The Jewish cemetery is a Jewish cemetery in Berlichingen , a district of the community Schöntal in Hohenlohekreis in northern Baden-Württemberg .
The cemetery of the Jewish community of Berlichingen was first mentioned in writing in 1586. It also served as a burial place for the surrounding Jewish communities. The following communities are named in 1706: Adelsheim , Braunsbach , Hohebach , Hollenbach , Merchingen , Nagelsberg and Sennfeld , and in the 19th and 20th centuries also Bieringen , Ernsbach and Künzelsau . The cemetery is about two kilometers southeast in the Jewish burial hall . The cemetery has an area of 14,793 m 2 , today there are 1,197 tombstones . The oldest tombstone is from 1659, the last burial took place in 1936. In 1985 a memorial plaque was put up to inform about the fate of the Jewish community. Another board gives information about where information about buried persons can be obtained.
