history
The cemetery on Bergstrasse was laid out in the 18th century. During the Second World War , Roma and Sinti were also buried on the site . Since, according to the Jewish religious law, Jews and non-Jews are not allowed to be buried in a common cemetery, the graves have been separated by a fence.
The oldest tombstone on the approximately one hectare cemetery, on which there are almost 1,800 graves, dates from 1729. In the mid-1990s, the cemetery was completely renovated by the Schalom Association .
