Jürgen Abraham (born October 17, 1940 in Cuxhaven ) is a German entrepreneur and founder of the raw ham manufacturer Abraham ham .

biography

Abraham trained as an industrial clerk and was employed in his parents' grocery store . In 1964 he went with his brother Rolf Abraham with an outpatient trading ham , sausage and cheese products independently . In 1971 the brothers took over a ham smokehouse in Moisburg near Buxtehude. In 1981 the new ham smokehouse was built in Seevetal near Hamburg and subsequently a large number of company foundations and takeovers of ham factories in Harkebrugge , Edewecht , Schiltach , Recogne / Belgium, Toledo / Spain as well as sales companies in the USA , Poland and France .

Jürgen Abraham has been on the Presidium of the Federation of German Industries (BDI) since 2007 . From 2005 to 2013 he was chairman of the Federal Association of the German Food Industry (BVE).

In November 2008, the Swiss meat producer Bell , which is majority owned by Coop (Switzerland) , took over 75 percent of the ham smokehouse.
