Jürgen Bründl

Jürgen Bründl (* 1969 ) is a German Roman Catholic fundamental theologian and university professor.

Life

After graduating from the Marist High School in Fürstenzell in 1988, he studied theology (diploma) and German at the University of Passau from 1988 to 1993 . The scholarship according to the Bavarian Talent Promotion Act supported him from 1988 to 1993. The master’s degree (1993–2000) in the subjects of modern German literary history, systematic theology, older German literary history with the master’s thesis Metropolis - the city as a world concept in literature and film at the University of Würzburg , where he completed his doctoral studies (1993-2000) in dogmatics with Alexandre Ganoczy with his dissertation in 2000. From 1997 to 1999 he received the doctoral scholarship of the University of Würzburg according to the law for the promotion of young scientists and artists. In 1997 he was a consultant for the Euroschule in Würzburg and in 1998 a consultant for the Kolping Bildungswerk. From 1996 to 2000 he was a consultant at the vocational training centers of the Bavarian employers' associations (bfz GmbH). Since 1999 he has been a consultant in the field of adult education at the cathedral school in Würzburg and in the theology study weeks in the correspondence course . From 2001 to 2013 he was a research assistant at the Institute for Systematic Theology at the Chair of Dogmatics with Otmar Meuffels . He was awarded the Prize of the Lower Franconian Annual Memorial Foundation for Science in 2001. From 2002 to 2003 he was a consultant in advanced training for religious teachers (grammar school) in the dioceses of Fulda and Passau . In Würzburg he married Sabine Schneider. Since 2003 he has been a member of the commission for the development of the theological master’s program in Intercultural Theology , as well as a member of the commission for the development of BA / MA program regulations for diploma and teacher’s programs based on the requirements of the Bologna process. After the birth of his daughter Sophie Elisabeth in 2005, he was on parental leave from 2005 to 2006 . After completing his habilitation in 2009 in dogmatics with the habilitation thesis God's proximity. The Holy Spirit and the problem of negativity in theology , appointment as private lecturer on July 16, 2009 and as senior academic councilor on October 1, 2009, he was senior assistant at the Institute for Systematic Theology, Chair of Dogmatics (Otmar Meuffels) from 2009 to 2013. In 2009/2010 he represented the academic staff in the Faculty Council of the Catholic Theological Faculty of Würzburg. In 2010/2011 he was the chair of the professorship for fundamental theology and dogmatics at the Institute for Catholic Theology of the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg . In 2011/2012 he was a member of the steering group for Master's Theological Studies (45 ECTS) and a member of the accreditation group for the Magister Theologiae course as a representative of the mid-level faculty. Since 2013 he has been teaching as a professor of fundamental theology and dogmatics at the Institute for Catholic Theology in Bamberg . Since 2015 he has been Managing Director of the Institute for Catholic Theology at the Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg.
