Jürgen Janetzki

Hans-Jürgen Janetzki (born June 18, 1943 in Berlin ; † March 21, 2009 in Herne ) was a German publisher of comic literature .

Janetzki originally completed an apprenticeship as a pastry chef , after which he moved from Berlin to Munich . There he started trading in comics and eventually opened Jürgen's Comic Shop , one of the first comics shops in Germany. He was also involved in the design of the General German Comic Price Catalog .

In 1988 Janetzki founded Splitter-Verlag in Munich , which specialized in sophisticated comics material, especially Franco-Belgian comics . In 1996, his publishing house won the Max and Moritz Prize for the Comic Zoo at the Erlangen Comic Salon . In 2000 the Splitter-Verlag filed for bankruptcy. With Janetzki's approval, quality comics have been published again under the name Splitter since mid-2006 . The co-founder of Splitter GmbH & Co KG is the illustrator Dirk Schulz , who wrote his comic series Indigo , Chiq & Chloe and Parasites originally had Janetzki laid himself.

In addition to trading in comics, Janetzki recently became increasingly involved in the figure industry, where he became famous for comic motifs (for example, Prince Eisenherz ). On March 21, 2009, Hans-Jürgen Janetzki died of heart failure while traveling to a figure fair.
