Jürgen Kluge (Manager)

Jürgen Kluge (born September 2, 1953 in Hagen ) is a German manager and functionary . He has been an independent management consultant and Senior Advisor at Bank of America Merrill Lynch since 2012 .

Life

After studying physics in Cologne and completing his doctorate in Essen , he joined McKinsey & Company as a consultant in 1984 . Kluge made the leap to partner as early as 1989, and was elected director in 1995. In 1999 he succeeded Herbert Henzler as head of the German office (including Austria ). He held this office until the end of 2006. Jürgen Kluge's clients come mainly from the automotive and electrical industries as well as from mechanical engineering .

Since 2004, Kluge has been an honorary professor for the Technical University of Darmstadt .

Jürgen Kluge was CEO of Franz Haniel & Cie from January 2010 to August 2012 . GmbH. At the beginning of November 2011 it was announced that Kluge would not extend his contract, which expired at the end of 2012. Previously there had been repeated reports of internal quarrels within the corporate management. Several top managers, including Metro boss Eckhard Cordes , then left the company.

Since September 2012, he has been an independent management consultant and senior advisor at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

In August 2013, Kluge was appointed Finnish Honorary Consul for North Rhine-Westphalia and Rhineland-Palatinate , based in Düsseldorf .

In January 2016, Kluge took over the chairmanship of the Lindau Nobel Laureate Meetings Foundation and is also a member of the board of trustees for the meetings of the Nobel Laureates in Lindau.
