Jürgen Nehls (Manager)

Jürgen Klaus Nehls (born October 24, 1938 in Berlin ; † July 14, 2018 in Munich ) was a German manager .

Life

Nehls completed a bank apprenticeship in Berlin and studied in Amherst (Massachusetts). He was a member of the management of the Munich banknote manufacturer Giesecke & Devrient for 30 years , from 1985 until he left the company at the end of 2002 as a board member. He played a key role in the company's transformation from a banknote and securities printing company to a global high-tech company. Among other things, he was responsible for the development of the chip card business and the internationalization of the company.

In the following years he devoted himself to voluntary work in various committees and associations.
