Jürgen Pfefferkorn

Jürgen Pfefferkorn (born August 14, 1949 ) is a former German soccer player. For FC Vorwärts Berlin / Frankfurt he played from 1969 to 1975 in the GDR Oberliga , the top division in GDR football . In 1970 he won the GDR Cup with Vorwärts Berlin.

Athletic career

Until 1967 Jürgen Pfefferkorn played for the company sports club (BSG) Motor in Schmölln , Thuringia , most recently in the fifth-class district class. At the beginning of the 1967/68 season he began a nine-year career as an army footballer at the top club of the National People's Army FC Vorwärts Berlin. After two seasons with the 2nd team in the third-class city league East Berlin , he played his first point games for the 1st team in the GDR Oberliga in the 1969/70 season. He was also used in three games of the European Cup . In the 1970 cup final, which FCV won 4-2 over 1. FC Lok Leipzig , he was substituted on in the 79th minute. From 1969 to 1970 he played five internationals for the GDR youth national team . By the 1974/75 season Pfefferkorn came for FC forward on a total of 83 league appearances, in which he scored 19 goals. After the 2nd team was promoted to the second-rate GDR league in 1969 , he completed 14 league games there by 1974 and scored five goals. He was also used in two games each in the European Cup Winners' Cup (1970) and UEFA Cup (1973). At the beginning of the 1971/72 season he was implemented with FC Vorwärts to Frankfurt (Oder) .

After Jürgen Pfefferkorn was released from the army in 1975, he joined the GDR league promoted Motor Eberswalde . In the 1975/76 and 1976/77 seasons he played all 44 GDR league games, in which he scored 15 goals. For the 1977/78 season he returned to East Berlin and helped the BSG NARVA to rise to the GDR league. There Pfefferkorn was only missing in one of the 22 point games in 1978/79 and was the team's top scorer with his 13 goals. When the BSG NARVA had to relegate back to the district league (formerly city league) after a year, Pferdrkorn did not return to the national soccer game. Until 1981 he played for NARVA in the district league, after which he was still active for BSG Autotrans and BSG foreign trade in the East Berlin district class.
