Jürgen Redhardt

Jürgen Fritz-Karl Redhardt (born May 8, 1926 in Wiesbaden ; † January 7, 2009 in Staufenberg - Daubringen ) was a German Protestant theologian , religious didactic and psychologist .

Life

Redhardt spent his childhood mainly in Frankfurt am Main . After graduating from high school , he studied psychology and evangelical theology in Marburg and Mainz . In 1952 he received his doctorate at Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz on the subject of the Protestant and Catholic Dostoevsky image .

His initial professional activity was as a pastor . In 1965 he moved to the Justus Liebig University in Giessen . In 1972, his position there was converted into a professorship for religious psychology and didactics of religious education. In 1991 he retired.

During his professional activity, Redhardt wrote numerous articles, specialist literature and expert reports and throughout his work consistently advocated tolerance towards other religions. He was the Hessian state chairman of the Association of Those Persecuted by the Nazi Regime - Association of Antifascists .
