Jürgen von Ahlefeldt

Jürgen von Ahlefeldt (born December 20, 1748 at Gut Damp ; † September 14, 1823 ) was a German bailiff and holder of the Dannebrog Order .

Life

He was the son of the noble landlord Rudolf von Ahlefeld , heir to the estates of Damp, Hohenstein and Saxtorf . Jürgen von Ahlefeldt was hereditary lord of the Damp, Hohenstein estates, and the lord of the Borghorst , Dörphof , Maasleben and Möhlhorst estates. His wife was Auguste Frederike Johanna Baronesse von Gemmingen zu Guttenbach and Niedersteinach , daughter of the Baden Chamber President Reinhard von Gemmingen , whom he married on August 24, 1770. He was an important man who was acquainted with King Christian VII of Denmark and Norway from a young age . As a student, von Ahlefeldt visited various South German courts and was a guest of King Friedrich II of Prussia on the state visit of Grand Duke Paul I , the later Tsar of Russia. At the age of 23, he was elected provost of the aristocratic St. Johannis monastery outside Schleswig for six years . Jürgen von Ahlefeldt was the bearer of the Grand Cross from Dannebrog and bailiff of Gottorf and Hütten . He was also chief director of the city of Schleswig , secret conference councilor, first member of the Schleswig-Holstein agricultural commission and member of the Schleswig regional court. Jürgen von Ahlefeldt died on September 14, 1823 and was buried in Karby .
