Jürgen von Kruedener

Jürgen Freiherr von Kruedener (born March 9, 1938 in Berlin ) is a German historian . From 1987 to 1993 he was President of the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich .

Life

Von Kruedener attended the Birklehof school and did military service in the armed forces. He then studied economics at the University of Mannheim ( Diplom-Kaufmann , 1966) and was a research assistant at the University of Mannheim and the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich . In 1971 he was at Knut Borchardt at the political science faculty with the thesis The role of the court in absolutism to Dr. oec. publ. PhD.

In 1977 he became a professor at the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich. In 1978 he was the founding dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences there. From 1986 to 1987 he was a visiting professor at St Antony's College of University of Oxford held. From 1987 to 1993 he was President of the Bundeswehr University. In 1995 he became a full professor for economic and social history with agricultural history at the University of Hohenheim . He has now retired.

He is married and has four children.
