JB Marks ( English JB Marks Local Municipality , 2016 to 2017 Tlokwe / Ventersdorp Local Municipality ) is a South African local community in the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district of the Northwest Province . The seat of the municipality is Potchefstroom with another administrative location in Ventersdorp . The community was created in 2016 through the merger of the former local communities Tlokwe City Council and Ventersdorp .

The African National Congress (ANC) leads the community. The administrative management is in the hands of Lebo Ralekgetho.

In 2017 the community was named JB Marks. It is named after the former chairman of the South African Communist Party J. B. Marks , who was born in Ventersdorp.
