history
Because of a legal dispute with the music label SM Entertainment , to which the members of TVXQ were under contract, three of the members went different ways. They called themselves Jaejoong / Yoochun / Junsu (JYJ) after their first names and first tried to start a new career in Japan with the help of the music label Avex . In September 2010, their first Japanese-language EP, The ... , was released, which topped the Oricon Weekly Chart in its first week . However, Avex refused to work with them after that week. Her English-language debut album The Beginning was released in October 2010 by Warner Korea . The first single Ayyy Girl was produced by Kanye West , whose voice can also be heard on it in addition to that of guest artist Malik Yusef . In addition, the American producer Rodney Jerkins worked on the piece Empty . In early 2011, their first Korean-language EP, Their Rooms, “Our Story” was released , followed by the Korean-language album In Heaven , which was released in the fall. During their third tour, JYJ Worldwide Concert , they performed in North America, among other places, but also in the Tempodrom in Berlin (November 2011) and as the first K-Pop idol group in Chile (March 2012). In 2012, the documentary film The Day about the band was released in South Korea . In early 2013, the band performed alongside Psy at the inauguration ceremony for South Korean President Park Geun-hye . In April 2013 they also gave concerts under the title The Return of the JYJ in the Tokyo Dome on three consecutive days .
