Jacinta Abucau Pereira (born August 25, 1973 in Balibo , Portuguese Timor ) is a politician from East Timor and a member of the Partido Democrático (PD) .

Life

From 1992 to 1999 Pereira was an agricultural officer in what was then the Ermera district . In 1998 she became the coordinator of the Organisação Mulher Timorense (OMT) in Suco Riheu ( Ermera sub- district ). From 2005 to 2006 Pereira worked at a breakfast radio and from 2006 to 2010 she was director of Lar d''O Bom Samaritano in Lauala (Ermera). Since 2006, Pereira has been chairman of the women's democratic organization (Organizasaun Mulher Democratico OMD) in the Ermera municipality , the PD women's organization, of which she is the general secretary at national level and since 2009 she has been the coordinator of the Catholic parish in Gleno .

In November 2010, Pereira moved up for the outgoing Álvaro do Nascimento as a member of the East Timorese national parliament . In the parliamentary elections in 2012 , Pereira was back in 9th place on the party list and again narrowly failed to enter parliament. However, since members of the cabinet automatically leave the parliament as MPs, Pereira moved up again as MPs. She became a member of the Commission for Economy and Development (Commission D). In the 2017 elections , Pereira failed again with direct entry, this time clearly at number 27 in the PD, and thus left parliament again.

education

In 2008, Pereira received a bachelor's degree in the Portuguese language . Since 2011 she has been studying politics at the Universidade da Paz (UNPAZ) in Dili , in addition to being a member of parliament.

Pereira is married to Florindo da Conceição Araújo and has one son.
