Jack Clisby (born February 16, 1992 in Perth ) is an Australian football player .

Career

Clisby, who played in the youth division of Sorrento FC , was a regular member of the selection teams. As early as 2005, he took part in a national tournament in Canberra with a U-13 national selection. In 2006 he was part of a West Australian U-14 selection that took part in an international tournament of the Asian Football Confederation in Malaysia and in which he, like his teammate Cameron Edwards , was elected to the team of the tournament. As a result, he was part of the U-14 selection team of Western Australia at the 2006 national championship and was identified by the Australian Association as a potential player with regard to the 2009 U-17 World Cup . In 2007 he was selected for the National Training Center's West Australian support program. In June 2007, he was invited to a four-day course for the Australian U-17 team before he also took part in the national championship with the West Australian U-15 team.

In 2009 he made his debut at the age of 17 as a player of Perth SC in the Western Australia Premier League , for the 2010 season he moved within the league to newly promoted Balcatta SC , where he was used more regularly. After completing a trial training session at Ayr United while on holiday in Scotland in 2009 , he moved to the youth department of the Scottish club St. Johnstone at the end of 2010 , but his club membership ended after six months in mid-2011. As a result, Clisby, who had already played sporadically for the Perth Glory youth team in the National Youth League in 2009, played again in some games for the youth team in early 2012.

In the Western Australia Premier League Clisby played for Inglewood United in the 2012 season and developed there to the top performers. In addition to an appointment in the state selection of Western Australia, with which he faced Perth Glory twice, he was also awarded the McInerney Ford Gold Medal as the best player in the league at the end of the season . This award was preceded by a change of position Clisby. While he previously played as a left full-back , he was used as a central defender at Inglewood and impressed with his game intelligence, speed and his passing game.

For the 2012/13 season he rejoined Perth's youth team and finally received his first professional contract with the club in January 2013 , benefiting from the departure of Bas van den Brink . Just a few days later, he made his debut on January 26th against Brisbane Roar , when he was in the starting line-up in the 1-0 defeat. In the following season 2013/14 Clisby was in 15 of his 18 league appearances in the starting line-up, he also benefited from injury-related failures of his competitors William Gallas and Scott Jamieson . After he came only sporadically at the beginning of the 2014/15 season - Jamieson was on the left, the central defense formed captain Michael Thwaite and Dino dieulbić - he left Perth in January 2015. Clisby moved to league rivals Melbourne City FC , who followed him the departure of Nick Kalmar and with whom he signed a contract until mid-2016.
