Jack William Dykinga (born January 2, 1943 in Chicago , Illinois ) is an American photographer and author of illustrated books .

Life

Jack Dykinga attended Riverside Brookfield Township High School and began his career in his hometown with the Chicago Tribune and the Chicago Sun-Times . He then went to Tucson , where he worked for the morning newspaper Arizona Daily Star and taught at the University of Arizona and Pima Community College .

Jack Dykinga is a founding member of the International League of Conservation Photographers , publishes with National Geographic Photography and serves on the board of the Sonoran Desert National Park Project .

Jack Dykinga lives in Tucson and has been married to Margaret Malley since 1965.

  • 2010 Stone Canyon was named one of the 40 best nature photographs of all time by the International League of Conservation Photographers .
