Jack Frost 2 - The Revenge of the Killer Snowman is an American horror film directed by Michael Cooney from 2000 and the direct sequel to Jack Frost - The Ice Cold Killer (1997).

action

Sam Tiler never fully recovered from the events of the first part and still sees Jack Frost everywhere and hears his voice. To recover from the stress, he and his wife Anne travel to a Pacific island. His deputy Joe Foster and secretary Marla want to get married there. What he doesn't know, however, is that the FBI accidentally resuscitated Jack Frost while trying to test his DNA. His genes have been treated with antifreeze so that he can no longer melt. His blood has also mixed with Sam's, so that he can track him down anywhere.

Jack Frost follows his enemy to the idyllic Pacific island and begins an unprecedented series of murders. Despite warnings from Sam, who senses Frost's presence, the other holidaymakers and the hotel management notice too late that the murderous snowman is responsible. Sam tries to face his old enemy. But Frost has also laid small snowballs that develop into his murderous children. In addition, the Pacific island is now covered in deep snow. Sam has a nervous breakdown.

But his wife has a brilliant idea. She uses Sam's banana allergy to Jack Frost's children. So she builds a banana juice cannon together with the other survivors. But eventually she is overwhelmed by Jack Frost. However, Sam regains his senses and saves his wife with the banana juice cannon.

background

The film was released on November 21, 2000 as a direct-to-DVD production. A German version was only published in 2006. Over the years the film had developed into a cult film, which, however, could not be shown on television because of its harsh splatter scenes . Therefore a second cut was made, which contains alternative scenes instead of the hard splatter scenes. This version was awarded an FSK 16 rating, while the uncut version was approved for ages 18 and over. The FSK 16 version was also broadcast in the series The worst films of all time on Tele 5 , which was communicated by the two presenters Oliver Kalkofe and Peter Rütten . During the moderation sequences, still images from the uncensored version were shown.
