Jack Kesy (* 27. August 1986 in New York City , New York as Jacek Kesey ) is an American actor of Polish descent. He gained fame primarily through the roles of Gabriel Bolivar from the series The Strain and as Black Tom Cassidy from the film Deadpool 2 .

life and career

Jack Kesy was born the son of Polish migrants in New York City, which is why Polish is his mother tongue. He also spent his childhood outside the USA, for example in Germany and Italy. He served in the United States Marine Corps for a while and then moved to London to study at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Theater . He also gained his first acting experience at the theater.

He first appeared in front of the camera in 2009 as Zoran in the short film Emina . As a result, he often took on small supporting roles in low-budget and action films , for example in 8:46 , Morgan , Recruiter , Grand Street , The Throwaways or in the thriller Shut In .

He then gained greater fame through the role of Gabriel Bolivar from the series The Strain , which he played between 2014 and 2016. A year later, in 2017, followed a leading role as Roller Husser in Claws . There are also guest appearances, such as in Ray Donovan and The Alienist - Die Einkreisung . In 2018, Kesy starred in the films Operation: 12 Strong , Death Wish, and Deadpool 2 . Through this role he was introduced to an international audience.

Kesy has been an avid tennis player and boxer since his youth . In addition to his native Polish , he also speaks English and German .
