Jack Taylor is an Irish crime series based on the crime novels by Irish writer Ken Bruen . The series takes place predominantly in the western Irish city of Galway and was directed by the director Stuart Orme .

action

After Garda officer Jack Taylor struck down the Irish Interior Minister with a punch, he was released from the police force. With nothing but his old police coat, the alcohol-addicted ex-police officer goes into business for himself as a private detective and sets up an office in the back room of his local pub.

Taylor investigates cases that the local police check as accidents or suicide , and is always on the trail of murder cases that keep his life in danger. The only remaining connection to his former colleagues is the young police officer Kate Noonan, who secretly provides him with internal documents and investigation results. In a later episode, the duo is joined by student Cody Farraher, whom Jack Taylor is an idol, and provides valuable services more than once.
